The Purple King climbing bean is an outstanding variety featuring long, flat dark purple beans that change to a deep green upon cooking. These beans are easy to grow and thrive in well-cultivated soils, ideally in sunny positions. They are suitable for deep freezing and provide excellent yields relative to the space they occupy. For optimal growth, it is recommended to feed the soil with a general fertiliser before sowing. Support structures such as canes, netting, or bean frames can be used, or a wooden tripod can be formed with 2 or 3 seeds sown at the base of each stake.
