This medium auger bit is engineered for fast cutting through timber, making it ideal for applications such as creating holes in fence posts and railway sleepers. The hex shank ensures a positive grip, preventing slippage in the chuck, while the wide lands maintain straightness during drilling. Its solid centre design enhances rigidity, and the single-spur cutting edge creates a smooth finish by scribing the hole's circumference. The coarse screw point effectively draws the bit into both hard and soft woods, making it suitable for kiln-dried hardwood, softwood, MDF, and particle boards. However, it is not suitable for green sap and woods.
