This auger bit is engineered for fast cutting through timber, making it suitable for applications such as drilling holes in fence posts and railway sleepers. Its hex shank ensures a positive grip, preventing slippage in the chuck, while wide lands maintain straightness during drilling. The solid centre design enhances rigidity, and the single-spur cutting edge helps to create a smoother finish by scribing the hole's circumference. The coarse screw point draws the bit into the workpiece, allowing for quick drilling in both hard and soft woods. It is compatible with kiln dried timber, hardwood, softwood, MDF, and particle boards, but not suitable for green sap and woods.
